Christmas

Hi ho, just 34 weeks to go!

Countdown to Christmas

Let’s talk sleighs and reindeer, eh?

There are suddenly a good many reindeer at the North Pole. The Reindeer Barn has two giant pens for the reindeer – one to the east and one to the west. The east pen is starting to fill with new residents – REINDEER! – but not just any reindeer.

My reindeer, Trixie, is there. She is with some of her teammates on the test flight squad.

My friend over there in the Reindeer Department said these “elite” reindeer are considered the best of the test flight team that are coming in. Evidently, it is an “invitation” only deal so far. And I personally can attest to that as I was contacted weeks ago about having Trixie show up. She was the first one there.

Anyways. Here’s what I’m hearing.

North Pole Flight Command has been telling us all year that the test flights of Santa’s sleigh will begin the first week of June.

But the reindeer gathering right now are not going to be part of the June test flights. They are going to be flying the experimental new designed sleigh I’ve been telling you about.

And, get this: they are, for the first time, dividing the reindeer into teams BY GENDER. The boy reindeer will be test flying the red sleigh, the girls will be test flying the pink.

How about THAT?

Now, I have not quite learned what the deal is with these sleighs. They sure look different. And I’m curious to understand the whole boy-girl thing. I have questions.

But what I’m being told is that these two sleigh MAY take to the skies as soon as May 8th.

Who, where, when, for how long and other such details are so far unknown.

You see, Flight Command isn’t testing these new sleighs. Neither is the Sleigh Department. Or the Research and Development Department.

I’m being told that Santa AND Mrs. Claus are calling the shots on this. They are recruiting the reindeer. They are setting up the flight schedule. And…from what I can tell…THEY will be the test pilots. Santa will be part of Team Red, Mrs. Claus part of Team Pink.

How about that, eh? Scoop of the year so far.

Now, my big question: WHY???

I’m still working on that one. Stay tuned. We’ll see if we can’t break the “top secret” shell on this project.
