36 Weeks Until Christmas

Hi guys! There are now 36 weeks until Christmas and we have something of a new mystery here at the North Pole.

Last week I told you all about some secret new sleigh that Santa is working on. Now there’s a new wrinkle to the story.

It’s pink.

Let me explain.

For fun, over Easter, Mrs. Claus colored her hair pink.

Normally her hair is a beautiful, shiny white color. I mean it’s gorgeous. And that’s her natural color and she is not shy about it because, after all, she is Mrs. Claus, she’s a Grandma, and it looks stunning on her.

So for Mrs. Claus to change her hair color from that fabulous white to pink is a BIG deal.

Easter was kind of a pink season for Mrs. Claus.

She’s having a lot of fun this year. I handle a lot of her “work” details in her office and I cannot tell you how different things are from last year at this time. Last year, Santa was gone on walkabout and Mrs. Claus had to handle the day to day business of the North Pole and Operation Merry Christmas.

This year Santa is back. And Mrs. Claus is back to just being Mrs. Claus again.

She was the driver of the Easter celebrations this year and let me tell you they were PINK. Many of the Easter eggs were pink. Her outfits were pink. All the invitations were pink. So too were the balloons. Everything was pink.

Imagine my surprise after last week’s post about this radical new sleigh design to walk into a part of Santa’s garage that I never get to go into and there I see not one but TWO fully built sleighs of this new design – one being a shiny metallic red with gold trim and the other is ALL PINK (with white trim).

And let me tell you – these sleighs ARE radical.

You see, I was asked to get my reindeer Trixie ready to do early test flights. As you may know, those aren’t scheduled to begin until June. But I was asked to get her over to Santa’s place the middle of last week.

So I took her over there and the sleigh guys, who all know Trixie well, just assumed I was part of this super secret new sleigh project and they are the ones who directed me to Santa’s garage.

So Trixie and I just walked in and there were the sleighs. And there were Santa and Mrs. Claus. And both were as surprised to see me as I was surprised to see them – and those crazy new sleighs.

Well, now.

I did learn some stuff. Can’t tell you all about it yet.

But this is big. BIG. HUUUUUUUUUUGGGGEEEEE news.
