There are many traditions related to Christmas that Santa celebrates each year. In the past, we've told you that Santa likes to give his Christmas tree a name.
He does this -- and advises believers everywhere to do the same -- because the tree comes into our home and becomes part of our family at Christmas time. It deserves a name.
Santa feels exactly the same way about his sleigh.
The sleigh, as you know, is a very important part of Christmas. It not only carries Santa around the world all in one night but it also has festively jingling bells and, of course, it brings the reindeer to our homes as well.
Santa love his sleigh. He takes care of it. He waxes it, he cleans it, he makes it shine. And every year he flies a new one.
Did you know that?
Every year he flies a new sleigh and every year his sleigh has a new name.
It is always a girl's name. Santa always refers to the sleigh as "she" or "her" so any name he comes up with has to be a girl's name.
This year, he is having a hard time thinking up a name for the sleigh. So he is asking your help.
This year's sleigh is reportedly smaller than last year and very light. Last year's was heavy and big. This new sleigh is the fastest he has ever used. Even when it is sitting still in one spot Santa says the sleigh looks very fast.
Now that you know what the sleigh looks like, and now that you know it needs a girl's name, do you have any ideas what Santa should call her?
