Every year, Santa is interviewed by the media. We have chronicled his conversations over the past several years and archived Santa's observations of popular culture and major media news events. He has shared with us his opinions on kids and parents, his thoughts on things sacred and secular, and the many unique ways in which he celebrates the season.
Once again, it is time for Santa to meet with the media. As he announced recently, he is allowing a high school newspaper editor to conduct this year's interview:
This year I have agreed to be interviewed by 17-year-old Jeremy Hart of Fontana, California, USA. Jeremy is the editor of his high school newspaper.
Jeremy is a talented young journalist with many unique ideas. He has expressed to me his desire to make this interview different from ones conducted in the past. He feels that perhaps the media in the past has tried to shape perceptions of me by asking about pop culture and focusing on stereotypical Santa-trivia. He says that he wants his interview and resulting news article to reflect the "real Santa Claus".
One of his ideas is to get questions directly from believers and non-believers alike. I cannot give him access to letters we receive here at the North Pole but I thought it might be a good idea to appeal to as many as I can to forward their questions to Jeremy in advance of our meeting.
